The Marmozets are a five-piece alternative rock band from the United Kingdom. Formed in 2007 in Bingley, West Yorkshire, the band consists of Becca Macintyre (vocals), Sam Macintyre (guitar/vocals), Jack Bottomley (guitar), Will Bottomley (bass/vocals) and Josh Macintyre (drums). The band was signed to Roadrunner Records in October 2013 and released their debut album on the 29th September 2014.

The two sets of siblings formed the band while at school and they have played live shows since 2007 garnering widespread acclaim for their chaotic live shows despite their youth and their average age being only 18. Marmozets took the Bradford music scene by storm winning three local Battle of the Bands competitions. The band made an impact on National level by winning the Music for Youth Rock Section which culminated in the band performing at the largest youth music festival in the world held at the Royal Albert Hall in front of 6000 people.

They have shared the stage with bands like; Young Guns, Funeral For a Friend, Gallows, Hyro Da Hero and The Used. They have appeared at the Glastonbury Festival, Download Festival, Reading and Leeds, Slam Dunk Festival, 2000 Trees and Y Not Festival.

The band released their first EP Passive Aggressive in 2011 and followed up with Vexed in 2012.The band embarked on their first UK headlining tour in September 2013.

Gallows’ record label Venn Records released Marmozets first single Good Days in 2012. In 2013 the band self-released their second single  Born Young and Free before the band signed to Roadrunner Records, who released Move, Shake and Hide. Both singles received high praise from BBC Radio 1 DJs. Marmozets released the single Why Do You Hate Me? on 17 March 2014.

The band was nominated for Best British Newcomer at the 2013 Kerrang! Awards and they were voted Best New UK Band by Big Cheese magazine. A few unreleased tracks that the band has performed live include ‘Is It Horrible’, ‘Cover Up’, ‘Hit The Wave’, ‘Particle’ and ‘Vibe Tech’. These tracks will feature on the band’s debut album.

Few bands who started at their age have displayed such  fearlessness, passion and dedication as the Marmozets. Their stage shows are intense and they have a devil-may-care attitude which may inspire their peers to become more resilient to peer pressure. The combination of talent and youth is really refreshing, especially from a female-fronted band.
